After two seasons in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, Darussafaka Istanbul returns to the 7DAYS EuroCup for its third appearance in the competition. In the EuroLeague, Darussafaka pushed hard late under Coach David Blatt to eventually clinch the last of the playoff spots available with a 16-14 record thanks to three straight wins in the final weeks. Darussafaka started strong with five wins in seven games, including one at home against CSKA Moscow. After that however, losing streaks of four and three games hurt the team's chances. Leadership by Brad Wanamaker, in his breakout season, Will Clyburn and Scottie Wilbekin helped Darussafaka get back on track and advance to the next phase. In the playoffs, the team fell to Real Madrid in four games despite taking a road win in Game 2. With valuable experience from its two years among the elite, Darussafaka now rejoins the most-competitive EuroCup ever and will have another hard road to travel if it wants to go all the way to the end.
