Darussafaka beats Besiktas in a derby game

The Regular Season in BSL is slowly approaching the end. But there may be still some important changes in the final standings in the last 3 rounds. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The most interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Istanbul: Darussafaka (#5) and Besiktas (#3). Darussafaka (13-7) won against visiting Besiktas (14-6) 74-67. They outrebounded Besiktas 39-27 including 24 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American guard Scottie Wilbekin (188-93, college: Florida) who scored 28 points and 4 assists. The other American import power forward JaJuan Johnson (208-89) chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds. American-Cameroonian DJ Strawberry (196-85) produced 23 points and 6 assists for the guests. Besiktas' coach Ufuk Sarica rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Darussafaka have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 13-7 record. Besiktas at the other side keeps the third place with six games lost. They share the position with Anadolu Efes. Darussafaka's supporters look forward to another derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Istanbul to the arena Fenerbahce.
