Turkish Airlines EuroLeague runner-up Fenerbahce Dogus Istanbul edged the visiting Banvit Bandirma 86-81 in their Turkish League semifinals series opener. Fenerbahce needed 9 minutes to open 25-14 lead, but Banvit used a 2-15 run in the second quarter to erase the deficit, and a 0-12 run midway through the third to open 52-59 lead. However, Fenerbahce answered with an 8-0 run, and after trading leads in the fourth quarter, Kostas Sloukas stepped up in the last 2 minutes of the game, scoring Fenerbahce’s final 7 points, securing victory. James Nunnally led Fenerbahce with 22 points on 6-for-6 three-pointers. Sloukas finished with 16 points and Nicolo Melli had 10 points, 8 assists and 8 rebounds. Angelo Caloiaro had 29 points for Banvit.
