Euroleague Basketball regrets to confirm, by way of Khimki Moscow Region, that forward Tyler Honeycutt has died in a shooting incident in his home state of California. Euroleague Basketball offers its condolences to Mr. Honeycutt's family, friends, teammates, coaches and the many fans who enjoyed his performances with both Khimki and Anadolu Efes Istanbul. He was due to turn 28 in eight days, on July 15.
Mr. Honeycutt was a four-season veteran of Euroleague Basketball competitions. He was a 2014-15 7DAYS EuroCup champion with Khimki before making his Turkish Airlines EuroLeague debut with the same team the following season. Mr. Honeycutt moved to Efes in Istanbul for the 2016-17 season before returning to Khimki during the last one. Although an injury kept him out of the first nine EuroLeague games, he helped to lead Khimki to the playoffs, a first for the club.
May he rest in peace.
