Vesely stays at Fenerbahce through 2022

One of the most recognizable stars of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague will stay put into the next decade as Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul announced an agreement with big man Jan Vesely to extend their relationship for three more years until the end of the 2021-22 season. Vesely (2.13 meters, 29 years old), who arrived in Istanbul to play with Fenerbahce in the summer of 2014, is now in his fifth season with the team. Currently injured, Vesely is averaging 14.4 points, 5.6 rebounds, 2.6 boards and 1.7 steals in 19 appearances this season in the EuroLeague and continued to lead all players with a performance index rating of 21.21 per game.

Vesely was one of the main contributors to the EuroLeague title lifted by Fenerbahce in 2017. He was also an All-EuroLeague First Team selection in 2015-16 and 2017-18. He has been MVP of the Month two times, in January of 2016 and in December of this season. Vesely started his EuroLeague career with Partizan Belgrade as one of the main protagonists in the team's trip to the 2010 Final Four in Paris. He played four seasons in the NBA with Washington and Denver before returning to the EuroLeague with Fenerbahce. Vesely has won several domestic titles both with Partizan and Fenerbahce and he is also a member of the Czech national team.
