The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Fenerbahce (15-3) in Istanbul on Sunday night. Visitors were edged by Anadolu Efes (15-3) 67-65. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Fenerbahce. It was a key game for the top position in the league. Strangely Fenerbahce outrebounded Anadolu Efes 32-18 including 21 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for American James Anderson (198-89, college: Oklahoma St., agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points. French Adrien Moerman (202-88) helped adding 8 points and 9 rebounds. At the losing side Greek point guard Konstantinos Sloukas (197-90) responded with 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and Czech power forward Jan Vesely (213-90) scored 9 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Four Fenerbahce players scored in double figures. Anadolu Efes have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. They used an opportunity after Fenerbahce lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position which they share with defeated Fenerbahce. Anadolu Efes is looking forward to face Turk Telekom (#6) in Ankara in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Fenerbahce's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Acibadem.
